Let’s take a Shelfie

I’ll keep this review short & sweet. As much as I enjoy writing, wall shelves are not great fodder for lengthy essays!

I knew I wanted some shelving in Ruf’s bedroom, but I wanted to head in a different direction to the floating shelves that we’ve used in other rooms. I saw these Clifton Wall Shelves in Great Little Trading Co.’s spring summer range and they kindly sent them to us to test out.

They arrive flat packed and need some assembly, but its easy enough to do (it must be because the Spouse managed it all by himself and he once built a wardrobe upside down) and then we mounted them on the wall. It’s all fairly simple stuff. The fun bit was styling them. We positioned them close to the changing table so that nappies and bum creams could be kept within easy reach. They’re sturdy and the addition of a few prints, books and toys has made them a real feature of the room. As is GLTC’s signature style, they’re neutral enough to blend in wherever you’re going to use them, but quirky enough to look effortlessly cool. They could easily be used in any room, from office, to kitchen, to nursery. I particularly like the two-tone effect with the wood and the white, just to give them a bit of warmth. Im looking forward to styling them up differently as Rufus grows. They can remain a focal point of the room and allow me to change the feel of the space, with minimal effort required.

What more can I say? A definite worthy purchase if you’re in need of some shelving (landscape or portrait) and a must-have for the “shelfie” generation!
