Star Storage Shenanigans

We Testing Teamers got asked, in a recent blog post, what our top picks are from the new Spring Summer 2017 range. I opted for the Little Star Storage Bench as it seemed an ideal place to hide away all the detritus that tends to litter my hallway, thanks to the offspring. Im talking wellies, hats, errant mismatched gloves, the occasional stick. All that stuff. I figured it’d be a perfect perch for plonking little backsides too, to save my knees, when it’s time to tie some laces.

Great Little Trading Company kindly popped a bench straight in the post for us, so we could put it to the test. It arrived already assembled and slotted seamlessly into the space.

Small enough not to be cumbersome, yet big enough to comfortably accommodate two small behinds (or one amply proportioned one). The lid slots on nicely, but without the worrying thud of something that has the potential to remove a few fingers. It’s solidly built, but very light and easily manoeuvred; which is why I moved it into our kitchen, one afternoon, so muddy boots from the garden could be tossed straight inside. This got me thinking (outside the box, if you will). Could we find a use for the Little Star Storage Bench in every room? Yes. Yes we could. With ease!

In the hallway…

It’s the perfect height for yanking on welly boots and the perfect size for storing them.

In the playroom…

This one didn’t strain the imagination too much. Toy box.

In the bedroom…

As a bedside table, it was a revelation. Ideal for storing books and just the right height for a night light and bedtime milk.

In the living room…

Coffee table! Which is actually great for me because we don’t have one (the kids manage to fall over enough without added obstacles), but now I can carry this in there when I’m “working” (Instagramming) on my laptop.

In the bathroom…

Somewhere to put extra towels and to stand on for peggy brushing purposes.

In the craft room…

And by craft room, I mean the Spouse’s filthy man cave. But hey, at least now I can keep my yarn in there without fear of it being buried beneath a layer of sweaty socks.

In the nursery…

I think is actually my favourite use for it. Blanket box. It just finishes off this room flawlessly.

In the kitchen…

Somewhere to put all the play doh, crayons, cookie cutters, feathers and the rest of the vast array of cutting & gluing paraphernalia we seem to have accrued in there. Oh, and it’s become quite a popular spot for story time.

So there you have it. There are virtually no limits to its uses. I think we’re going to need a few more…

Lucky it’s 15% off then, eh!?
